Almost Friday- Week in Review for Duncan

Duncan is my second grader.

Memory Work
Tell me about adding and subtracting decimals.
We line up decimal numbers for addition and subtraction by lining up the decimal points.

What is an adverb?
An adverb modifies a verb. (There is a teacher’s note in Grammar Island that explains that adverbs also modify adjectives and other adverbs, but for right now we will focus on modifying verbs. I read this to Duncan, but did not include the info on the back of his index card.)

Well, this is all we accomplished. I cancelled violin this week and we didn’t do art or Farsi. In my defense we are trying to pack up my oldest to get him out the door to college this weekend. Yay, Christian!

  1. Farsi? Wow, that would be so much fun.

I'm amazed at what you accomplished with all three children this week.

  2. That was ALL you accomplished? Looks great to me! I can't imagine sending one off to college! Hope his send-off goes well!

  3. The science project looks fun and I really like your memory work questions.

  4. Looks like a wonderful week! Congrats on getting one off to college!
